2005 EVENTS:
March 2005: LORD WHIMSY is pleased and proud to announce that he has
joined forces with the aptly named Regal Literary
agency in New York. Mr. Peter Steinberg is one of the
finest agents in the business, and has worked with the
likes of Mario Puzo, Studs Terkel and Edward Gorey. The
office of Regal is a cozy, gothic-style penthouse on Broadway,
which makes for fun
visits.
BARNEYS
BOOK SIGNING, MAY 6th & 7th, 2005: Whimsy would like
to express his sincerest gratitude to Douglas Little,
Regal Literary, Colin at Bloomsbury, Barneys and the good
people of Gotham for their generosity and hospitality.
I'd venture to say that this weekend was a great success,
although it may be too soon to tell just yet. Again, our
thanks to Douglas, Moira, Jennifur, Chris, the cast of
Shockheaded Peter, Colin, Peter, Joe, Lauren, Bess, Russell,
Bryan, John, Beth, Adam, Meredith, Sean, Silver Ali, Lisa,
Michelle, Amy, Vanessa, Nick, Steve, The Algonquin, Chez
Josephine, United Noodles, DiRoberti's, Supper, Patrick's
probing interview, ABCNews's phone inquiries, Mr. Depp's
Almanack Fever, the kind staff of Barneys, the curious
socialites and everyone else who made this weekend a wonderful
experience.
August: Lord Whimsy appears on BBC Ulster's arts program.BR>
Lord Whimsy is featured in issue ten of LECTORA, an academic journal published by Universidad de Barcelona. Isabel Clua wrote a paper entitled, "Cuando Frankenstein encontró a Dorian Gray: dandysmo, post-identidad y sujetos virtuales". I am 'discussed," but the Catalan Spanish combined with the academic jargon renders it indecipherable to me. Nonetheless, I am deeply flattered to have been deconstructed.
October 9th: I had the distinct
honor of presiding over the wedding
of two of my readers: Josh and Noelle. The ceremony was
held at the foot of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, with
the Schyukyll River in full view. I raise a glass of herbal
liqueur to the bride and groom: may they have a long,
happy life together!
