Hidden River Expedition: Press Release, Itinerary

Here is the press release for the Hidden River Expedition, for those of you new to this little stunt of mine.

I thought it would be a good idea to post the places and times for my upcoming kayak expedition, in case friends would like to meet up with me along the way. While I’m on the water, I’ll be very busy recording, photographing and reporting my position to “mission control” (aka Susan and Laura). But it would be nice to see friendly faces at my destinations (Riverton, Penn Treaty Park, Bartram’s Garden). Good excuse for a picnic.

Thursday, August 4th (Rancocas Creek, 16 miles): At 7:00 am, I will walk from my house to Mill Dam Park in Mount Holly, NJ. After a short ceremony, I will launch my kayak and proceed down Rancocas Creek to the Delaware. Later that afternoon, I will land on the leafy banks of Riverton, NJ.

Friday, August 5th, (Delaware River, 11 miles): I leave Riverton early in the morning and proceed down the Delaware. That afternoon, I will land at Penn Treaty Park in Philadelphia.

Saturday, August 6th (Delaware-Schuylkill Rivers, 12 miles): I depart from Penn Treaty Park, making my way down the Philadelphia waterfront to the Schuylkill. That afternoon, I will arrive at my final destination, Bartram’s Garden.

The public is welcome to meet me at all three locations. Just look for my flag.

  1. Tom says:

If you come to a spot that has the aroma of corn being cooked and you can hear banjos playing you probably shouldn’t stop at that location.

  2. EmmKay says:

Penn Treaty Park will have a performance by the Sensational Soul Cruisers and fireworks that evening.
    Presumably to celebrate your arrival.
