WHIMSY’S ARCADE: Video and audio whimsicalities.
Like playing Devil’s Advocate? Well, I’ve made a veritable career out of doing so. Here is a series of eight videos that address the 2012 Mayan Apocalypse, made for Hendrick’s Gin. It was written, directed, and edited by Yours Truly. My good friend and colleague Laura Baird lent her audio editing and harpsichord skills to the task. The first video (posted above) is an introduction, followed by seven more videos, each refuting one of the so-called deadly sins (Lust, Vanity, Anger, Sloth, Gluttony, Envy, and Greed).
The entire video series was made in three weeks. I still avoid that part of the house as much as possible.
Some thoughts on being yourself, given at PS122 in New York in March, 2010. This piece was performed for Mashinka Firunts’ multidisciplinary show, Semiospectacle, which featured the divine Vaginal Davis.
The original Whimsy video, circa 2003. A classic.
Woodshop Films presents a series called “Mein Haus”, which features the homes of various people in and around Philadelphia. In this episode, I show you around the Greenhouse.
